A support system of friends and family . . .
Team Steph, Inc. was started by Stephanie Serrano-Osorio who was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in 2010. After her diagnosis, Stephanie’s family and friends came together to collectively support her fight against cancer, and “Team Steph” was created. Under Stephanie’s leadership, the team got involved with community awareness events like the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, fundraiser walks and fun runs around town, and banded together in a show of strength.
But even with an extensive support network like hers, one thing remained constant – fighting cancer is expensive. Stephanie experienced first-hand the challenge of juggling both daily and medical costs and finances, and started looking for ways to help others facing similar challenges in her local communities.
With that, a brilliant idea was born – incorporate “Team Steph” as a non-profit so that our own fundraisers could make more of an impact, including at the local level. So, we did. Motivated by Stephanie’s generous heart and spirit, this organization and the work we do in our local communities are dedicated to her memory.
